| Abstract |
The paper describes a special system that can be
used to generate electric power by utilising solar energy. The
solution is based on a system that consists of a combined solar
thermal collector/photovoltaic cell, a high speed turbinegenerator,
a three phase AC/AC converter and a supervisory
control unit. The electric power generated by the system can be
fed back to the utility mains by an ac/ac converter or it can be
used in stand-alone mode. The paper describes the operation
of the system suggested for the utilisation of solar energy, its
basic control strategies and principles applied in the two basic
modes of operation. The operation and dynamic behaviour of
the system is studied by computer simulation techniques. |
