Abstract |
Power quality can be reduced by harmonics distortion or/and fast load current flow (e.g. motor starting) on the electrical power network. A 3-phase UPQC (Unified Power Quality Conditioner) has been developed to improve the power quality and to ensure the stability. In its control system, harmonics compensation was integrated into fundamental component control (e.g. power flow control, asymmetry correction); harmonics components were identified according to the differences between the instantaneous measurements and their fundamental components. In this case, our UPQC had a very quick response of harmonics compensation, magnitude correction and power flow control. High cost efficiency and high power quality can be achieved. |
