Abstract   Paper presents theory and test results of sensorless sinusoidal current active rectifier with controllable waveform of ac supply current. The rectifier is a source of two dc symmetrical voltages. The control system operates without ac voltage sensor and assures stable operation for a case of symmetrical and asymmetrical dc loads in wide range of the ac voltage frequency and amplitude. Simulation results and oscillograms, obtained during laboratory tests, using variable speed permanent magnet generator, confirm ability of the simple three bidirectional active switches rectifier, to control of the current that is not displaced against supplying emf.
