| Abstract |
This paper describes the soft-switching method of the switched reluctance drives. A resonant pole type switching is used to modify the chopping transistors. Switched-capacitor technique is used to improve the current waveforms. Also, an active-clamp SRM drive is proposed. This circuit has very good zero-voltage switching on transistors except the commutating transistors which still suffering from switching loss. The performance of these two circuits is explained. |
