A New Optimisation Algorithm of Position Estimation for Zero- and Low Speed Range Using Magnetic Saliency Method

Abstract |
This work presents an improved method for position estimation of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) at zero speed. It is based on a rotor magnetic saliency when the rotor reactances in d- and q-axes are different, but very close to unity one. The main contribution of the paper is substantial increasing of estimation accuracy by means of optimisation of modulation period and motor parame-ters&time constant, respectively. The optimisation is based on linearization of the stator currents (in d- and q-axes) using minimum possible value of the ratio of modulation period/time constant. The opti-misation algorithm is also supposed for low speed range. Simulation experiments of rotor position estimation have been carried out for two types of permanent magnet synchronous motors. |
