| Abstract |
This work discusses the design considerations, both analytical and by finite element analysis, of an axial flux permanent magnet synchronous machine with U-shaped stator, which is specially designed to have a simple robust construction with a low weight-to-power ratio, high efficiency and a controlled output voltage over a wide speed range. A mono-phase prototype was build. The results of the tests on the prototype are presented and the effects of different design parameters on the output of the machine are shown. |
