Abstract |
This paper describes how the varying torque distribution around the periphery of the rotor of an induction motor was verified by using finite element analysis. This varying torque distribution is cited as the main cause of rotor bar breakages occurring near to the end rings of the rotor cage. A possible solution is offered. |
