Abstract |
This paper analyses voltage sags ride-trough methods for elimination of voltage sag effects in contemporary, inverter fed AC drives. The nature, amplitude and occurrence frequency of voltage sags are analysed. Negative effects on electric drives are discussed as well. Response of the components (contactors, control electronics and protective relays) of electric drives to voltage sags is considered in order to develop objective picture of the influence that sags have on electric drive. Finally, several methods for compensation of voltage sags effects are analysed and discussed using simulations and results reported in literature. |
