Abstract |
This paper investigates the application of generalized predictive control (GPC) to the unified power flow controller in order to improve the overall power system stability and performance under increased power flow conditions. These include an algorithm decoupling multivariable systems based on generalized predictive control. The performances of the controllers are evaluated under different operating conditions of the power system. The results demonstrate that decoupling MIMO GPC with proposed algorithm is very effective in improving the transient power system stability and very robust against variable transmission line parameters. |
