Abstract |
In general field weakening in machines leads to a reduction of iron losses but also to a reduction of the
pull-out torque and the push-over torque. With variable speed wind turbines the torque is decreasing
more or less quadratic with speed, which offers the possibility to reduce the field in the lower speed
range. The effect of field weakening on the efficiency and annual energy yield has been analysed. |
