| Abstract |
The paper describes an IGBT battery charger for trams. Full bridge topology with IGBTs and ferrite transformer is used. Working frequency is 20kHz. Input voltage supply from catenary voltage with frequent overvoltages and disconnections during operation is especially demanding. Main design guidelines and results of measurements made on a realised charger are given. |
