| Abstract |
Recent developments in wind industry show a clear trend toward the ever-higher power machines. One driver behind this development is the trend to move wind power plants offshore. To be successful offshore a reliable and robust concept is required in the 2 to 5MW power range. In this paper we present the technical characteristics and performance features of the four quadrant, neutral point clamped, medium voltage converter optimized for the application in multi megawatt wind power plants. |
