Abstract |
The paper gives the principles of the pulse width modulation (PWM) braking control strategy for Switched Reluctance motor drive with fixed the turn-on angle and the turn-off angle of the main switches. The expression of the average braking torque is given in the unsaturated motor magnetic field model. The energy analysis during the energizing period and the commutating period are made. The peak value of the phase current and their rotor position are also analyzed. A three-phase 6/4 structure prototype and a four-phase 8/6 structure prototype with PWM braking control are intro-duced, and the calculated and tested results are given. |
