Power Regulation and DC-Link Neutral Point Voltage Balance Control of Three-Level VSI Using a LQR-Based Gain-Scheduling Technique

Abstract |
A simple and effective method to design the control strategy for a Three-Level VSI is introduced. Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) and Gain-Scheduling techniques work concurrently in the regulator. Any state variable can be regulated using the proposed method, either in small and large-signal operation. With the model and regulator presented, DC-link unbalance regulation is also achieved by means of the controller action. Then, a switching strategy to control DC-link neutral point voltage is not required. Simulation results verify the validity of the proposed controller design. |
