| Abstract |
This paper presents two novel control methods to achieve fast and accurate average inductor current regulation in PWM DC/DC converters. The basic principles are described and the frequency analysis is performed. The theoretical predictions are verified through experimental and simulation results. It is shown that it is possible to retain all advantages of the peak current-mode and, at the same time, to overcome its drawbacks. One of the methods is very suitable for ac current regulation due to excellent dynamic features. The other is suitable for applications where overdamped response is highly recommended. |
