Abstract   The main objective of the paper is to highlight the bifurcations in a high frequency time-sharing inverter. First, the paper presents the basic configuration and the mode of action of the inverter. This is followed by the steady-state analysis of the inverter with open loop and with closed feedback control. The analysis of the nonlinear dynamic system is performed both by approximate mathematical study and by simulation. It enables us to discover subharmonic generation in certain operation range and to draw the so-called bifurcation diagrams. The paper offers physical insight into the strange behavior of the inverter.
