Abstract |
The weight and outer dimension of inductive and capacitive elements in the energy converters can be significantly decreased by increasing the switching frequency, besides, the control speed faster by orders of magnitude can be achieved. Neither the technical and economic advantages of the dimension and weight decrease of inductive and capacitive elements, e.g. energy transfer transformers, filters etc., nor the favourable features of higher operating frequency require a detailed explanation. High frequency energy transfer can be applied in almost all the fields of the electric industry. It is also true for the technological procedures, e.g. welding, cutting, surfacing that makes use of the heat effect of electric arc. |
