Abstract |
Power converter for the most superconducing magnet application is required large capacity and high response. To meet these requests, Inverter-Converter Bridge (ICB) energy transfer circuit has been studied as an exciter circuit for superconducting magnets. Converters used in ICB circuit are ones of natural commutation current source type. This enables to satisfy above requirements. However, three problems have been known through the experimental results. These may be reasons why the circuit is not applied practically. In this paper, Through Mode problem, that is one of these three problems, is discussed and solved. The problem sometimes appears when the operation mode changes from ripple reduction operation to normal operation. To avoid this, two measures are proposed and these methods have been confirmed by experiments. |
