Abstract | This paper addresses the current state of microprocessor implementation for high performance AC Induction Motor Control. In view of the innate parallelism of motor drive control functions, the implementation using the Transputer parallel processor is described. This processor is used as a basis for comparison with other leading processors, both in terms of performance and flexibility and convenience in implementation. The philosophy of parallelism is illustrated through the implementation of a standard rotor-flux oriented control system with attendant communications and on-line rotor time constant tuning. The paper gives a brief comparate review of a number of rotor time constant methods in respect of performance and implementation. |
