| Abstract |
Locomotives for cross-border traffic in Europe operate under up to five different AC and DC power
supply systems. Methodology and results for the traction chain topology evaluation used for
Bombardier Transportation’s new multi-system locomotives are presented, based on a life cycle cost
consideration of manufacturing costs and energy consumption. |
