Abstract |
This paper presents a novel method of modeling
and control of a switched reluctance motor
(SRM). It is shown that complex rotating vectors
can be used to develop an equivalent form of the
torque equation in the SRM. This equivalent
form of the torque equation leads to an insightful
development of a closed form solution of the
currents necessary to produce smooth torque in
an SRM given any rotor dependent inductance
function. The concept of rotating vectors is also
used for saliency based position estimation
techniques. |
