Abstract |
A series resonant converter associated to a transformer and a rectifier imposes a constant ratio between input and output voltages when it works at the resonance frequency and can be called an "electronic transformer". If the output voltage varies, it can be necessary to limit the variations of the input voltage by using the quantum mode control. This article shows that this type of control is possible if the converter works in a continuous conduction mode. A simple model of the converter is presented and used to determine the limits of working of quantum converters which are linked to the minimal value of the current in the load. |
