Abstract   In this paper, a method, which allows controlling cascaded power converters is presented. The method uses a first order development of the power system equation around the functioning point. It is shown that an uncoupling structure for an optimal control of the converters is always possible to be exhibited. Two kinds of power systems are considered. The first one is a Boot-Forward cascade for which the proposed method leads to a perfect robust control of internal variables. The second ones is constituted of a Boost converter supplying a brushless DC motor with its inverter. the proposed method modifies control structure of both the Boost voltage loop and the space vector control of the motor. A perfect control of the DC link is obtained especially during speed variations.
