| Abstract |
The paper deals with the design and realisation of an IGBt inverter, directly coupled to the 3kV catenary, for railway applications. Important aspects of the design (gate drive, protection, insulation and cooling) are presented through simulations and measurements on the test bench. A prototype is mounted in an EMU for field tests on Belgian trracks. |
