Abstract |
A novel zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) bi-directional phase-shifted DC-DC converter is proposed.
The converter has no filter inductor or series resonant capacitor. It operates at a constant switching
frequency and the voltage conversion ratio is regulated by the phase-shift control. It has bi-directional
power flow capability and synchronous rectification hence the on-state voltage drop of the devices are
small. In addition, the newly developed converter is an ideal candidate for Electric Vehicle (EV),
since its bi-directional power flow feature is especially useful for regenerative braking in EV, where
the mechanical energy is converted into electrical energy by traction motor and then fed back into the
batteries. |
