Abstract |
This paper focuses on various issues related with the selection of a tool for Power
Electronics (PE) education. PE education using a PC based object oriented modeling language
namely DYnamic MOdeling LAnguage (DYMOLA) and Advanced Continuos Simulation Language
(ACSL) is discussed. With the proposed tools, modeling environment is totally decoupled from the
simulation environment, which is the state of the art. To illustrate the elegance of the proposed
approach, two examples namely a tolerance band controller based DC-DC converter and a closed
loop V/f slip regulated Induction Machine (IM) drive are presented. |
