Abstract |
Variable-pole induction machines are becoming in-creasingly popular in electromobility due to their design flex-ibility, high torque density, and competitive energy efficiency. The elimination of speed sensors not only reduces costs butalso enhances fault tolerance. Accurate rotor flux and speedestimation are crucial for achieving high-performance sensorlesscontrol. This paper explores the selection of reference frames forspeed estimation by expanding the speed-torque profile throughmagnetic pole transitions. It compares the performance of aspeed estimator in the stationary (aß) reference frame withthat in the rotating (dq) frame across various operating points. The experimental results show that the stationary frame offersimproved performance, primarily due to reduced computationaltime, especially in the low-speed range. |
