| Abstract |
The Avalanche Bipolar Junction Transistor turns on in just a few hundred picoseconds. It plays an irreplaceable role in the field of fast pulses. The saturation characteristics of Marx circuits based on avalanche transistors are especially obvious. By analyzing the circuit principle, the saturation characteristics are influenced by the discharge capacitor and load resistance. The influence is studied in this paper by building simulation circuits in PSPICE. By using the voltage utilization to quantify the saturation characteristics and fitting the parameters from the simulation results, a general saturation formula is obtained. Subsequently, a ten-stage Marx circuit is built to verify the saturation characteristics. |
