 Abstract   This paper deals with Power-Flow Controllers (PFC) utilized in meshed MVDC grids to ensure full dynamic controllability of the grid. A control structure is proposed that combines line current regulation and adaptation of the PFC capacitor voltage, aiming to reduce the converter switching losses. Additionally, the positioning of PFC within a meshed grid is investigated to achieve maximum controllability and fault-handling capability while minimizing PFC voltage requirements.
