Abstract   This paper presents a performance analysis of a novel single-input dual-output DC-DC converter for bipolar low-voltage DC (LVDC) distribution systems. The converter combines traditional boost and buck-boost converters using a shared inductor, providing voltage balancing and a common-ground condition. In particular, the focus of this study is on investigating the influence of the time-sharing factor (TSF) on the converter's performance. Through detailed theoretical analysis and PLECS simulation verification, the effects of varying the TSF values on key converter parameters, such as inductor current, voltage regulation, power losses and efficiency, are thoroughly discussed. The results presented in this paper contribute to the advancement of efficient and reliable power conversion techniques for emerging LVDC grid applications.
