Abstract   The non-linear features of iron losses forhigh-frequency components have posed great challengesfor accurately estimating iron loss. Engineers commonlyrely on practical models such as Steinmetz Equation (SE)families to predict iron losses. The constant parametersof the SE models for a certain magnetic material areobtained through curve fitting of its datasheet. However, itis crucial to acknowledge that the iron loss density variesacross different shapes and sizes of cores from the samematerial, which consequently affects the SE parameters. In this paper, a four-wire measurement kit is presented.Modified SE parameters for different sizes of a specificmagnetic material are derived based on experimentaldata. The predictions using these modified parametersdemonstrate higher accuracy compared to results obtainedusing constant Steinmetz parameters.
