Abstract |
The capacitively coupled DC/DC power electronic transformer (DCPET) has been proposed for 380 V DC power supply systems. The capacitive coupling topology achieves highly efficient and ultra-compact isolated DC/DC converter, removing the high-frequency transformer which is dominant in the converter loss and volume. A prototype of the DCPET has been fabricated and its performance with the peak efficiency of 99.2\% and power density of 32.3 W/cm3 has been verified. The proposed topology overcomes the stagnant relationship between the efficiency and the power density of isolated converters. The proposed DCPET contributes the energy saving of the data centers in the future big data-driven society. |
