Abstract |
This study proposes utilizing the stator winding of an electric vehicle (EV) motor as an input filter for an active front-end rectifier stage of on-board charger, forming an LCL filter. However, the high value of grid-side filter inductance due to the EV motor winding may constrain the LCL filter design. A small signal model is developed to investigate system dynamics, and a control structure is designed for an integrated LCL filtered onboard charger (IOBC). Results show that integrated LCL filter performs similarly to typical LCL filter, with the added benefits of reduced weight, volume, and cost ofOBC. The effectiveness of the designed control structure was validated experimentally in real-time using Hardware-in-the-loop testing. |
