An improved approach for litz wire loss calculation based on segmented equivalent circuit

| Abstract |
Litz wires are often used to reduce AC losses in high frequency transformers. However, modeling the AC resistance is still chal-lenging. In this paper, a new analytical calculation method is proposed. Based on the 2D field model, the section impedance is obtained, and then the 3D litz wire AC resistance is obtained using the equivalent circuit. The method is experimentally verified to have high accuracy. |
