A Simple Two-zone Overmodulation Implementation for Three-Phase Two-Level Inverters

Abstract |
The standard two-zone overmodulation scheme is widely used for overmodulation implementation and provides the best performance among various overmodulation schemes presented in the literature. This paper proposes an alternative implementation strategy for Two-zone overmodulation, ideal for carrier-based implementation.The proposed algorithm is extremely simple and does not involve online timing calculations. The theoretical background developed is verified using simulations in Matlab/Simulink. The effectiveness of the proposed strategy is demonstrated by implementation on a readily available32-bit DSP (TMS320F28379D) for V/F speed control of a 5-Hp induction motor drive. |
