Abstract |
The subsynchronous cascade is a well known induction motor (rotor winding ) drive that is used for speed
regulation in a range not much below synchronous speed. It operates regenerating active power back into the main
AC lines. However, it presents a low power factor in most of the cases. In this paper a novel low cost and improved
power factor subsynchronous cascade is presented. The characteristics of the proposed drive under braking
operation are also discussed. |
