Abstract |
Pilot Diode (PD)-Reverse Conducting (RC)-IGBTs reverse-recovery and turn-ON losses significantly depend on the system's inverter locking time. Therefore, loss reduction is achievable by selectively reducing the inverter locking time in diode conduction mode. A sophisticated gate-control mechanism providing a safe and simple way to do so as well as high voltage simulations approving the method's functionality are presented. |
