Abstract   In this paper, considering the real transformer characteristics a model of a forward converter is discussed. As a consequence of the transformer leakage inductances the effective duty cycle and the dc voltage gain are lower than the ideal values of these parameters. This reduction is proportional to the switching frequency. Considering this phenomenon, a new fully requlated two-output dc-to-dc converter topoloqy is developed. In these new converters the duty cycle and the frequency must be controlled. The theoretical expectations have been verified in a prototype.
