In the analysis and the simulation of the operation of a converter circuit, the derivation of its mathematical model is not so simple and routinized. We studied the application of the bond graph representation to the modelling of the electronic power converter, which is widely used to express dynamics of various physical systems. The switching of valves in a converter is described basically with a modulated transformer elements, the modulating gain of which is given as a function of the switching state. The method, integrating this detailed bond graph into a simplified one, is derived and applied to both line-commutated and self-commutated converter. The simplified graph is analyzed or transformed into the differential equation form manually or with use of the computer program. The behaviour of a multiple converter system is easily studied with it. The combined system of converters with electrical machines could be also modelled with this method and the unified expression is obtained. The integrated analysis is useful to design the control scheme of such system. |
