| Abstract |
A privileged application of the direct frequency changer is the reconstitution of the network aboard an aircraft (115 V / 400 Hz) by means of a variable speed driven alternator (57 V / 3333 Hz ; 23 V / 1333 Hz). After having explained the principles of the direct frequency changer operation, the authors describe more precisely the used switch (power transistor) and the control which is directly inspired from the techniques employed in the PWM inverters. A reduced-power prototype has allowed to perfect the control system and to verify the feasibility of such a converter. |
