Abstract |
This review paper discusses some new trends in servo control systems. It describes aspects of the control and inverter design of different types of brushless servo drives. A new type of brushless servo-drive is introduced viz. a reluctance motor servo drive. The performance of these systems in applications such as robotics, high performance machine tools, automatic handling and gun/radar tracking systems is discussed. The concept of integrating all the drive elements into a complete system design is also advocated. |
