Abstract |
Voltage source GTO inverter need snubber circuits for di/dt and dv/dt limitations. Snubber circuits are lossy and can be bulky. To improve the overall performances of the inverter it is important to control this aspect of the design. This paper presents a new lossless inverter branch design and compares it to other high efficiency voltage source inverter branch designs. Design considerations as well as experimental results are discussed in the case of an urban traction application. |
