The gyrator is a lossless two port network which transforms one port netwerk into its dual with respect to its gyration conductance. lts ability to transform voltage sources into a current source makes it suitable for the coupling of loads which exhibits voltage source characteristics such as electrical discharge devices. Novel realization method enables synthesis of a very efficient device. Power conversion systems based on controlled, time variable gyrators are discussed. The analyses includes the cases of bi-directional, harmonics free, dc/ac conversion, dc/dc conversion and Var generation. |
