Abstract |
The way of operation of multiphase series-resonant converters is looked at from two viewpoints: from the requirements as imposed by the resonant circuit and from the requirements as imposed by the desired power transfer characteristic. The viewpoints are unified in a straightforward switch selection proces. Basic constraints are stated and therefrom effective switching schemes are derived. The switching schemes are demonstrated by way of simulation of a 3 phase to 3 phase series-resonant converter. This converter is characterized by bilateral power flow, variable frequency, both voltage step-up or step-down and independent control of reactive power on both input and output. |
