| Abstract |
The paper describes the operation of a new type of 3-phase to 3-phase cycloconverter which utilises the six thyristor configuration of the industry standard "soft start" induction motor starter. Performance of this new cycloconverter in its application to induction motor speed control is investigated by means of a computer simulation and the results obtained compare favourably with these obtained from a practical system. |
