 Abstract   In this paper some implementation solutions are presented with reference to drive of DC motors, based on dedicated microprocessor system. The servo drive consists of low inertia moving coil motor, controlled through a four quadrant chopper and monitored by means of tachometer, incremental encoder and current transducer. A microcomputer system, based on Z80A, supersides all the operations allowing the operator to control rotation speed, position reaching and balance holding. It also checks that a predefined current threshold is not exceeded.
