| Abstract |
This paper describes the application of MOSFET switches to !ow-power, doubly-salient, switched reluctance drives. The basic principles of SR motors are introduced together with the range of possible power electronic circuits used to switch the motor currents. Design principles are discussed in the context of technical and economic factors and practical results are presented. The MOSFET-switched SR drive is shown to provide excellent performance and show great commercial potential. |
