Abstract | High power semiconductors cooling systems have to be compact, safety minded and able to be used in various environments and generate only low level nuisances. That is the reason why a liquid with good specific heat capacity, perfect dielectric strength and withstanding the frost was chosen. FREON 113* meets these requirements, its
boiling temperature enables its use under liquid phase and forced evaporation. Under given conditions, the FREON liquid phase cooling performances equal these of water, and are higher by forced evaporation in the heatsinks. With FREON 113 three types of cooling are used: - liquid phase forced convection, - immersed condensation forced convection, - two-phase forced convection. (*) Trichlorotrifluoroethane commonly called FREON 113. |
