Abstract |
The Grenoble public transport system has purchased a series of twenty tramways built by Alsthom in its La Rochelle factory. These low-floor vehicles are fitted with electrical equipment developed by Alsthom in Villeurbanne. This equipment's main characteristics are a static converter, a flugen cooled chopper, continuous conjugation between recuperation and rheostatic braking and a microprocessor train control unit. With the introduction of this microprocessor control unit, it has been possible to define the train's automatic operation with a great degree of flexibility and it could provide precious help for maintenance. |
