Abstract |
In two earlier papers at EPE, we explained the general concepts of the FDPS. We shall see how these concepts can be implemented in typical industrial applications. The FDPS is a modular system designed to meet all electric machine drive control requirements. lt owes its versatility to a fully digital implementation. Although the FDPS can be implemented as a single-processor system, the most common architecture uses several microprocessors interconnected by a high-speed data link. The majority of the systems delivered today are in operation in the metals industry and mainly in South Korea. By the end of the year, about 250 units comprising over 650 microprocessors will have been delivered. |
